IMEI Tracker
The IMEI Tracker is a community-driven register that lets owners add missing devices and lets buyers verify whether someone else already reported the same number.
How the IMEI Tracker works
Every submission stores the IMEI, a contact channel, and a short status note. When someone enters the same IMEI in the search form, the record appears instantly so both parties gain clarity.
- Crowd-sourced reports: people who lost or found a device share key details.
- Structured timeline: updates show when a case was opened, commented on, or closed.
- Neutral contact point: parties can coordinate outside the platform with confidence.
Steps for logging an IMEI
- Dial *#06# or open Settings -> About Device to copy the 15-digit IMEI.
- Submit it via the Phone Finder form alongside a clear description.
- Bookmark the confirmation link so you can update the status later.
- Share the link with your carrier or local police to prove the IMEI is registered.
Responsible IMEI tracking
My Phone Finder does not replace carrier-level blocking or law-enforcement tools. We never claim to geolocate phones. Instead, we maintain a transparent bulletin board that complements official registries.
What the tracker can do
Show that an IMEI was reported, document finder updates, and help buyers evaluate second-hand offers.
What the tracker cannot do
Remotely erase, lock, or locate a device. Only manufacturers, carriers, or police agencies have that authority.
IMEI Tracker FAQ
Does the tracker locate my phone in real time?
No. It is a reporting layer that shows what the community knows about a device.
Is it safe to publish my IMEI?
Yes, but share only the details you are comfortable with and use a dedicated email for follow-ups.
How long do reports stay live?
They remain visible until the author marks the case as resolved.
Can the tracker help corporate fleets?
Yes. Many IT teams upload IMEI lists so colleagues can double-check a device before deployment.
What information we store
Each entry contains the IMEI, a status (lost, stolen, found, disputed), an optional nickname for the device, and your preferred contact method. You choose whether to publish an email, messenger handle, or none at all. When the situation changes you can update the record to let the community know the case is closed.
We never show payment info or sensitive personal data. Everything is encrypted at rest to protect whistleblowers and honest buyers.
When to use the IMEI Tracker
- After reporting a theft: register the IMEI to alert potential buyers.
- During a second-hand deal: check whether multiple complaints reference the same device.
- For corporate fleets: upload a list so colleagues can verify assignment history.
- For good samaritans: if you found a phone, search the IMEI first to see whether someone is looking for it.
Keep every channel aligned
The tracker performs best when it mirrors the advice elsewhere on the site. After filing a report, revisit the Find phone by IMEI guide to ensure your narrative matches what law enforcement expects. If you are mentoring someone new to IMEI basics, send them to What Is an IMEI Number? so they understand why the digits matter before they submit anything.
People on the ground should keep the lost phone checklist handy, while those dealing with deliberate theft can follow the stolen phone guide. Whenever a potential buyer reaches out, point them toward Check IMEI; transparency there reassures cautious shoppers and helps them avoid trading stolen hardware.
