Find Lost Phone
Work through the most likely recovery steps in order. Protect access to your accounts while you search, and keep one factual timeline for every lead.

First 30 minutes
- Use the official account-based locator and enable lost mode or screen locking if available.
- Call the number sparingly and check the last confirmed location.
- List recent stops in probability order and contact venue or transport staff with exact times.
- Save a screenshot of the last known location and any account alerts.
Search and secure the phone in parallel
Ask helpers to cover separate locations so they do not repeat the same route. Keep one shared note with times, contacts, outcomes, and the next planned check.
Protect primary email, cloud, banking, and social accounts. Contact the carrier to secure the SIM if there is a realistic risk of misuse.
Record the IMEI and ownership evidence
Keep the IMEI, serial number, receipt, model, color, case details, and last known time together. You can check or add the IMEI in the community database, but that lookup does not monitor or locate the phone.
When the phone is offline
A dead battery or missing connection makes account tools less useful. Continue with physical checks, venue lost-and-found desks, transport operators, and scheduled follow-ups. Avoid publishing private account details or arranging an unsafe meeting with a stranger.
When to switch to the theft workflow
Move to the stolen phone response if you see suspicious account activity, unexpected device movement, resale evidence, or other signs of deliberate theft. Preserve messages and listing screenshots for the platform or police.
If a phone-number lead appears, read the limits of finding a phone by number. Before buying a replacement, use the used-phone inspection checklist.
Check an IMEI in our community database
Enter a 15-digit IMEI to look for a matching community-submitted record. This lookup does not provide a phone's live location.
